I had ridden dirt bikes in my teens, and a variety of Japanese bikes through out my 20s. \u00a0After a bit of reading, I was influenced by\u00a0a Cycle World article talking about a previous &#8220;Motorcycle of the Year&#8221; winner. \u00a0It was the\u00a0Kawasaki Versys. \u00a0The price seemed right, I went and completed\u00a0a motorcycle safety course and a new 2011 Versys was my new ride.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doggins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_3031.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-10\" src=\"https:\/\/www.doggins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_3031-300x258.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3031\" width=\"300\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.doggins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_3031-300x258.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.doggins.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/IMG_3031.jpg 559w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I<\/p>\n<p>The Versys is as its name implies a very versitile bike. \u00a0Light, nimble, and an absolute blast to ride. \u00a0It was the perfect bike to bring me back into the lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>I outfitted her with a Corbin seat for some added comfort, SW Moto crash bars, a Yoshi exaust, and life was good.<\/p>\n<p>That summer (2011) \u00a0my unbelievably supportive wife agreed to support a 3 week, 1600 mile adventure through Wyoming and Montana. \u00a0Wait, it&#8217;s better than you think. \u00a0Every morning I woke up rolled out of a comfy bed, had a nice breakfast, a quick shower, hopped on the bike and blasted out onto the nearest curvy\u00a0road I could find. \u00a0DD (my loving wife) prepped the RV and hit the interstate. \u00a0Around \u00a02 or 3 pm everyday we would find out where each other was, decide on a campground and by 5 or 6 pm I would normally catch up, set up camp and repeat. \u00a0However, it set the stage for future events&#8230;.you probably guessed it DD wanted to start looking at bikes.<\/p>\n<p>Next&#8230; \u00a0DD&#8217;s Jewelry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About 3 1\/2 years ago I was once again bitten by the motorcycle bug.
